In Washington State, except for Pierce County, voters are forced to vote by mail. I don’t have a problem with people using absentee ballots if they are unable to get to the polls to vote.

But I am, and have been, a proponent of voting at a polling place. Here’s why:

Campaign season seems to last, well, forever. Not just the current presidential campaign, but local campaigns also.

As far as I can determine, there are 2 reasons for campaign yard signs:

Create name recognition
Demonstrate support of the candidate by the property owner
